Lindquist Electric, Inc. has been a trusted name in electrical contracting across the Upper Peninsula for nearly six decades. Its story began in 1966 when Kenneth Lindquist purchased Pete's Electric in Hurley, WI, laying the groundwork for a legacy of quality and service. The company was formally established in 1971 at its current location, 500 E Cloverland Drive, Ironwood, MI, and incorporated in 1981. Under Kenneth’s leadership, Lindquist Electric expanded its offerings, serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients with a commitment to excellence. The company’s leadership transitioned to Kenneth’s son, Brian Lindquist, who carried forward its mission with unwavering dedication. After Brian’s untimely passing in 2014, the Lindquist family faced a pivotal moment. Brian’s wife, Marie Lindquist, stepped forward with remarkable resolve, not just as a shareholder but as a driving force in safeguarding the company’s future. Her dedication ensured that Lindquist Electric continued to thrive, preserving its legacy and operational strength. This effort culminated in the successful transition of ownership to Alan and Sarah Granley, to whom the corporation was sold in 2019.
The company’s portfolio boasts several standout projects that highlight its technical skill and community impact. One such project is the construction of the Gogebic Community College Skilled Trades Facility, where Lindquist Electric provided top-notch workmanship to support the facility’s educational mission. Commercial construction projects, such as the Bayfield County Courthouse Renovation, stand as a testament to Lindquist Electric’s versatility, with its work modernizing the historic building while preserving its integrity. Other notable efforts include the 2022 replacement and upgrade of the electrical service and distribution at Northern Lights Services in Washburn, WI; the 2005 wiring of Ironwood High School; several healthcare construction projects at Aspirus Grand View Hospital; and many more, showcasing the company’s ability to handle diverse, large-scale projects with precision.
Beyond its professional achievements, Lindquist Electric has deep ties to the Upper Peninsula community. The company has supported local youth sports, reflecting its investment in the region’s future.
Today, under the Granley’s ownership, Lindquist Electric operates from its original Ironwood base, delivering top-tier electrical services while upholding its founding principles. With a history marked by growth, impactful projects, and a steadfast community focus, Lindquist Electric remains a pillar of reliability and excellence in the Upper Peninsula.
